Check engine light came on today. P0680 was what the code reader showed. Checked it several times always same code.

This is for a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0 Ecoboost.

This code was not listed on my code reader's list and apparently usually is for "Cylinder 10 glow plug circuit fault" or something similar.

Only have 4 turbo cylinders. What is it trying to tell me, has anyone else also experience this?

Update 1,

Closely examined the engine bay and also looked under the battery cover and found a positive battery cable looser than finger tight (just sitting on the terminal post).

I am amazed that the truck could function at all with the cable so loose!  Tightened it up and used a scan tool to erase the MIL and so far so good. The code has not come back. Drove for about and hour. The loose cable may have introduced static into the electrical system and possibly triggered that bizzare OBD II code.

Will report later on status. The truck was just back from service to the smart keys (both replaced, dead, could not unlock the truck except with emergency key).

That's great JCMAC.  I was about to say, only diesel engines have "glow plugs"!
