Can anyone explain the difference here? I have an awesome 95 Explorer that has true 4WD, and the low setting has come in very handy sometimes. Parts are getting to be an issue, however, so we are looking to replace and downsize. It seems that the Explorer does not come in true 4WD anymore. The 2016 Edge has AWD. The 2017 Escape is advertising 4WD.

Advice appreciated. Is it worth waiting for the 2017 Escape to get true 4WD, possibly with a low setting?

Thank you!
