I recently swapped in a new pair of brake pads on my 2005 Limited Escape but I now hear a faint grinding sound as if the pads were worn down.  I have good braking power, but that noise is extremely annoying.  There does not appear to be any grooves on the rotors where metal on metal grinding is taking place so I'm not quite sure what it is.  Anyone have something similar happen to them?  If so, what steps shall I take to resolve this?

Thank you,

I had a similar issue on my 2002 Windstar after installing brand new rotors and pads. Drove it that way for a while and it did not get better until I put a different set of pads on. No problem since.
