I've been looking at this car at a local auction business. There is nowhere to take the car for any real drive to check things out. It's not blowing any smoke, the tailpipe is clean. There's a oil drop clinging to the exhaust flange under the oil filter, but I can't see where it's coming from. It looks like the oil pan (?) has some after-market gasket goo grey/white sealing things. It starts great, runs great, idles smooth. 200k+ k's
The cruise doesn't appear to work, (no light comes on, on the dash) but everything else works great.
The main thing I noticed is upon acceleration in park, when it hits 4000 rpm it seems to be bouncing off a rev limiter. Is this normal?
Is there a way to check the 4x4 is engaging? There's no dirt I can take the vehicle on to.
Is there anything I should be taking a closer look at?
