I loaded up a few bags of rocks in the back, drove down a steep hill.. next thing I know a yellow dash light came on, and the pedal went to the floor.

I brought it to a local Ford dealership and they told me the "ABS Module" failed, and it'd be $4000 to replace it. Wow.

I bought a used Module ($220) from a junkyard, had a buddy put it in, and it worked for a little while, then it didn't, then it did again, then it didn't.. he figures I got a bad part (?)

So... do I try another used one?

Is this a known problem with the 05 hybrids?

We were talking about this idea... how about bypassing the whole system, and just putting in a conventional master cylinder??

Any advice? I really miss my Escape.. I saved forever to buy it and only got to drive it for 2 years. Now I'm driving a beater pickup truck.... this sucks. HELP! :)

Thank you....
