    2020 Escape Issues

Our 2020 SEL when it reaches 35mph, the steering wheel starts vibrating and a loud humming then starts which can be heard over the radio. Both do not go away as speed increases. Even at 75 the vibration call still be felt in the steering wheel. It also starts to wonder all over the lane as you gain speed. The humming is still there but harder to hear because the engine noise and road noise are also louder than any of the other 4 Escapes we have owned. The Dealer said Ford Tech said this is all normal. Bull shit!!! If Ford doesn't come up with some fixes very soon, we are getting rid of this Escape and Ford!!
  2. We bought a new 2020 SEL, the new 8 speed transmission shifts into high at approx. 35-40mph. Then the steering wheel starts to vibrate and a low humming noise can be heard, even above the radio. We took it back to the dealer. They gave us a loaner, another 2020 SE Escape. It does the exact same thing. The Dealer said Ford said this is normal. That the vibration was from the engine. What BS!! Being a Retire Engineer from Ford, I know this is not correct! The transmission needs to be reprogrammed and has nothing to do with the engine. As this is the same 1.5L that was in our 2017 Escape SE. This was done to meet the mileage claims only. But this current setting will cause excessive transmission wear resulting in premature failure. This is not rocket science and needs to addressed ASAP with a TSP update!!

    2020 SEL Interior

Is anyone else disappointed in the Quality of the Interior Trim (Plastic)of their 2020?? The one we looked at on the Dealer Showroom floor, the Black Interior had a Glossy finish to it. Expected the same when ours arrived. The Black is Dull, like flat black. The Dealer said they detailed the one on the showroom floor with Armour ALL. Well I use 303, quite using Armour All years ago. After two coats of 303 which made it shin but after sitting for a day, its still dull. Dealer showed us several others on the lot, and he was correct......DULL!! The Active-X seats have no luster to them either even after detailed. Very Very disappointed in the Interior Quality. Our 2017's SE Interior was by far way superior. Also our 2017 SE had a Digital Dash standard. Now even with our upgrade to a SEL, its an extra cost for the Digital Dash. We then compared the Paint thickness to our 2017 as it did not have that smooth, flowing look.....what a huge differance! We paid extra for the Rapid Red which is a tricoat and is supposed to be thicker. Well after checking over 30 spots ends up 1/3 less thick than our 2017. This is our third Escape and probably the last. My daughter and a friend where very interested in the 2020 till they saw the issues with ours. Ford keeps cutting corners on Quality but keeps raising the price. They are screwing themselves.
