I don't believe there is any as built data stored in the TCU. It's just an external modem that just connects to the I-CAN BUS system and that's about it. You will need to go into the APIM and enable the TCU and a couple of other things i can't remember off the top of my head. Then your Sync 3 should see the modem number.

I'm sure it would be very expensive as it is so new still that there are no 3rd party makers for the wiring harness to convert it like on the older vehicles. You would have to wait a couple years before someone will make the harness to adapt it. The APIM is pretty much the same as long as you get a GEN 4 late 2019 to 2020 year with Nav but then you will need the top mount screen and knobs. You would have to get that from a junk yard that might get one in by chance. That is not that expensive through a junk yard.

I will second that. My girl friend has a 2020 Titanium Echoboost Escape and it has every option they put on this thing. I have to say after reading this earlier, I went out and looked over her car with a fine tooth comb and checked gaps and hood issue and everything looks like it should. Maybe you just got unlucky with the pick of the one you got. Maybe if you ended up in a different one, this might not have happened. But it does still suck you had to go through all the mess with it.
