Yes that is to protect your my key option. why the engine shut when opening a door is to be sure that the user will use his key to start the car and this way if the key is programmed as a mykey restricted key, all the restrictions will come into effect. the remote starter act as an admin key so if it doesn't shut off on pening door, your kids could use the remote to bypass mykey restrictions. Now, if you dont intend to use mykey at all, you can disable the "shut off on opening door" option when programming the rmst. Note: Dealers dont want to deactivate for legal reasons. option 7 in bank two should be disabled to deactivate shut down on opening doors or key-in sense.

The steel blue color is used in fleet vshicle, saw a couple of them, that's one of the reason i ordered the sport appearance didn't see one like mine to date :-) and i'm from Quebec City...

(also got the same escape in black in 2010 but liked steel blue more, that'S why i traded in my 2010) I must say t[hat i like this vehicle a lot... also ordered it with canadian winter package (heated leather) here's the baby...

I had a v6 2010 Sport app. pack and now a 2011 escape sport app pack(nothing to do with the engine :-) ) also with the 3.0 v6 and must say that i am always impressed when pushing the pedal to the floor! even with some youngsters with their hondas trying to challenge the escape... they are also impressed when passing in front of them with the suv... this engine is very impressive!

i absolutely hate this rounded design... i bought a 2011 escape because that was the last year of the suv with the look i prefer most! Those rounded crv-rav4 like vehicles are so much not practical vehicle with no space at all for gears, it's no more an SUV. They design those ugly vehicles for the gas efficiency but if you want efficiency, BUY AN ECHO! Leave our SUV like they are... we dont like those bubble cars at all.
