How to change fob to unlock all doors with one press? 2004
Jon posted a topic in Alarms, Key Fobs & Locks
I had a previous 2004, and somehow I had changed it so it will unlock all doors with one button press instead of 2. I have another 2004 now, and can not for the life of me remember how I changed the unlock setting on the old one. Internet searching has turned up nothing. Holding lock + unlock on the fob for 3 secs doesn't change it. Entering program mode by key on/off 8 times only programs the fobs to the car, doesn't change the unlock setting. Can I do it in Forscan? Can not find tables for where I would change it in the as-builts, and it is not an option in the modules otherwise. Any ideas? -
Just bought a 2004 Escape Limited with 115,000 on it for $3750. I'm surprised at how smooth and peppy this thing is and how well maintained and clean it is for being a 16 year old car! I have a bunch of questions but first here are the details I know about from the previous owner. I believe I am the 3rd owner and I do my own work on my vehicles so please excuse the OCDness of this post Oil changed regularly and from what I can see by looking into the fill hole where the timing chain is it's nice and clean and no sludge. Dip stick is clean and no burnt oil on it. Transmission fluid and power steering fluid full change at around 90k miles. Vehicle has plenty of pep and smooth shift points where I would expect them. Transmission fluid is still nice and pink and does not smell burnt. I have the oil leak somewhere over by the timing chain cover and I get a lovely burnt oil smell when you stop the car because it's dripping on the exhaust. This seems to be a pretty common problem, I'm dripping about 3/4 of a quart every 3,000 miles according to the previous owner. Here are my Questions: I've pressure washed most of the oil grime away but there is still some I need to get to by removing the splash guards underneath. Where should I start looking for this annoying oil drip? Is it enough of a known problem that there are easy fixes I could start running down? What in the world is that tiny little belt on the driver's side under the engine cover? At first I thought it was running the cam shaft and I about had a heart attack but then I realized it's running off the cam shaft and maybe running the water pump?? What is the oil capacity amount when I do an oil change. It calls for 5w-20, with summer temps here in southern UT averaging 102 would it be wise to bump to 5w-30 in the summer? Are there any other things I should be keeping an eye out for? I'm guessing this thing might possibly be running the original spark plugs so that might be a good place to start. Anything else? I'm def not looking to make work for myself. This is a third vehicle for when the kids are home or we have guests come visit who would like to go explore. Our daily driver's are two very well built Jeeps and we don't want people who aren't used to driving them use them. Yes... I know... very much a first world problem. Thanks in advance for any advice or input.
