The lights below the radio are out the radio itself works fine. This affects the radio preset and the AC buttons everything else works. My question is, are there a bulb to replace or do you replace the whole Radio Console display? Thanks

I'm posting this in hopes of helping someone avoid major disappointment. This isn't to bash Ford, I've owned several Fords over the years and am still a big Mustang fan, however Ford has laid a collosal egg with the 2020 Escape. I purchased a 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium in July. Test drive was pleasant and the promise of 40+ mpg was enticing. I quickly regretted this decision as I immediately started having problems with the heads up display. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. Took back to have checked with initial try to repair was re-soldering some wiring. Didn't fix. Try #2 was to replace the whole heads up display, didn't fix. Try #3 was to replace a wiring harness, didn't fix. Car was at dealership 2 out of the first 3 months I owned it. On top of all of that before I took it back initially I went to pop the hood to put in sone rain x washer fluid and the hood popped loudly because it hit the A pillar on one side so hard it chipped paint off. I had to loosen the bolts holding the hood on and adjust it myself. The back hatch was also crooked and had to be adjusted. The passenger leather seat cover had a fairly big wrinkle in it and felt like it was missing some padding. Body seams all over the vehicle didn't line up well or had uneven gaps. I would be extremely unhappy but after contacting Ford while the car was sitting at the dealership they approved a buyback. So while I'd vehemently advise against purchasing a 2020 Escape I must give Ford kudos for doing the right thing. They completely paid off the loan and I was able to walk away from the vehicle. But I am extremely disappointed in Ford for allowing these vehicles to go to market with so many problems. The quality control is severely lacking. I have since purchased a Volkswagen Tiguan and the fit and finish and quality of build is heads above the Ford Escape, no comparison.

2017 Ford Escape Order Guide >

FORD ESCAPE FORUM – The Ford Escape – the vehicle that helped popularize one of the largest automotive segments – is being significantly updated for model year 2017 with more of what Escape customers said they wanted – the latest driver-assist technologies, connectivity and two new fun-to-drive and efficient EcoBoost® engines.

Escape is currently one of the best-selling vehicles in its class. In 2015, a record 306,492 Escapes were sold in the U.S., making it Ford’s number two nameplate behind F-Series, the best-selling vehicle line in the U.S. for 34 straight years.

The new Escape, scheduled to launch in the spring, features available SYNC® Connect mobile access and driver-assist technologies such as adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, a lane-keeping system, and Enhanced Active Park Assist – all packed in a vehicle that’s been redesigned from the inside out.

Escape is the first Ford vehicle to make Auto Start/Stop technology standard with either of two new-to-Escape EcoBoost engines – a 1.5-liter EcoBoost and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged EcoBoost. Auto Start/Stop technology shuts off the engine during common stops, so the vehicle burns no gas and emits zero tailpipe emissions.

“To improve an already-great vehicle, it was important that we listened to our customers,” said Milton Wong, Ford Escape chief engineer. “Escape owners drove these changes by telling us how we could make one of the best-selling vehicles in the segment even better.”

Changes to the interior began with a new push-button electronic parking brake, which replaces the large, traditional hand-actuated parking brake. This change dramatically enhanced the front-row experience for the driver.

The gear shifter was repositioned rearward to give improved access to climate controls on the center stack. In addition, a media bin was added at bottom of the stack, offering access to a USB port and a covered power outlet. The redesign also features improved cup holders, two new storage bins and a larger center armrest.

The new Escape features an all-new steering wheel with easy-to-work buttons for audio and climate system controls, and a new “swing-bin” glove box gives provides easier access to stored items.

“Virtually every surface a customer will touch is new, in design or material,” said Chris Mazur, Escape program manager. “In some cases, it’s the minor changes that have the greatest impact on driver or passenger comfort.”

On the exterior of the vehicle, design changes to the front and rear give the new Escape a more confident, rugged persona. The redesigned hood and raised trapezoidal upper set a wider stance – evoking a more prominent feel for the front of the new Escape.

More of the smart technologies that drivers want

Escape will be available with two new-to-Escape powertrains – a 1.5-liter EcoBoost and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged EcoBoost – and both will include Auto Start/Stop technology as standard equipment. Base models are powered by a 2.5-liter i-VCT four-cylinder engine.

The Ford Auto Start/Stop system senses when a vehicle is sitting idle and shuts off the engine to conserve fuel. When shut off, an engine burns no fuel and emits zero harmful emissions.

“Auto Start/Stop is the equivalent of turning off the lights when you leave a room, or turning off a water faucet when you’re done washing dishes,” said Wong. “It’s a high-tech approach to more efficient driving.”

Since its introduction for the 2001 model year, Ford Escape has been a leader in offering advanced driver-assist technologies. The 2017 Escape carries on that leadership. In addition to other favorite features such as a hands-free liftgate and SYNC 3 driver-connectivity system, the new Escape features these available technologies:

Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Warning and Brake Support: Sensors detect when Escape is approaching a slow-moving vehicle and adjusts cruise control accordingly

SYNC Connect: Lets owners use a smartphone app to start, lock, unlock and locate their vehicle

Enhanced Active Park Assist: Provides automatic steering assistance to park the vehicle in a parallel or perpendicular parking spot, and pull out from tight parallel parking spots

Lane-Keeping System: The system includes lane-keeping assist, which alerts drivers when they drift unintentionally from their lane, and lane-keep aid, which provides steering assistance to guide an unintentionally drifting vehicle back in its lane

Driver Alert System: Using data from the lane-keeping system, Driver Alert detects signs of fatigued driving and provides a warning on the instrument cluster

What do you think of the looks of the 2020 Escape? I personally do not like it. Especially the front end. It looks too much like the small Porsche SUV which I do not like either.

I attended a dealer training session yesterday on the 2020 Escape. It has a few upgrades over earlier years. One is that the AWD model has the ability to completely disengage the rear wheel drivetrain. But it will renegade in a fraction of a second if needed. This will help gas mileage. The rear seats move 6 inches for and aft to allow for more leg room or cargo space as needed.

I do not like the screen setting above the dash. My wife is short, 5 foot 2 inches, and with the seat up us high as it will go she could not see over it. It blocked a large portion of her visibility. Doesn't Ford model the interiors for shorter people?

The front end design looks too much like Focus. Ford is trying to appease the ex Focus buyers. What they have done is alienate the people who like the look of an SUV.

The drag coefficient is less than a Mustang GT. They are going for mileage.

I was so uninthused about the looks of the 2020 Escape that I bought a completely loaded Ruby Red 2019 Escape Titanium 4wd with a tow package.

Now they are available from Ford Accessories, Genuine Ford parts and sell for about + - $150.00. There is another one of the same design only made of stainless steel rather than the
$150.00 aluuminum ones and I think they go for around $320.00 + -

Has anyone had any information here on installing them, build quality or just a review ? My Escape is a 2018 and I am disabled. I get out of my Escape, stand and grab the front to rear side rails to support myself and hand to hand scoot back to the rear side window, open the rear door and remove my crutches and then am able to walk. The pull on the rails is no slight pull and crossbars would tighten and strengthen my movement safety. And...... facilitate roof rack duty occasionally to boot. Any opinions ? I LOVE my Ford Escape.

We bought a new 2020 SEL, the new 8 speed transmission shifts into high at approx. 35-40mph. Then the steering wheel starts to vibrate and a low humming noise can be heard, even above the radio. We took it back to the dealer. They gave us a loaner, another 2020 SE Escape. It does the exact same thing. The Dealer said Ford said this is normal. That the vibration was from the engine. What BS!! Being a Retire Engineer from Ford, I know this is not correct! The transmission needs to be reprogrammed and has nothing to do with the engine. As this is the same 1.5L that was in our 2017 Escape SE. This was done to meet the mileage claims only. But this current setting will cause excessive transmission wear resulting in premature failure. This is not rocket science and needs to addressed ASAP with a TSP update!!

	2017 Ford Escape Changes

Hidden prototype 2017 Ford Escape is empowered, an insight into the changes in mid-cycle version. The inside and closing selection of powertrains, for now will stay a mystery! Still place to front-wheel drive stage, everything in it’s very subject to change. Great sway on promotion within the outdoor layout changes had upgraded Border and present Fusion. The 2017 Ford Escape got a brand new grille, modernized HID headlights with LED daytime running lights, lower air intakes. The fog lights are stayed, covered with camo, so it’s anticipated the change in their own look. The final part of the vehicle has passed via the redesign process when it comes to a distinct-appearing taillights. The image still has a dual exhaust exits, which points to the choice power units, but not on the finished look of the exhaust system.

New GMC models: 2017 GMC Terrain Redesign

The Escape compact SUV got two rows of seats. The inside is open and satisfies the needs of transportation as many as five passengers. Even though the inside is really to stay undetected, is anticipated to Ford’s latest Sync 3 infotainment set up. The new appearance provides the Escape more superior feel thanks to more modern, grown up fashion.

	2017 Escape Engines
Changes in the bid, the drive unit isn’t anticipated, but still potential. In the event of Escape versions, it was revealed the discretionary engine might be better than that offered in the regular bundle. The 1.6-liter turbocharged engine there as an elective engine, but was in standard offer of the Fusion sedan versions. This engine was so striking and was promised that Ford replaced the same, at Fusion with 1.5 L turbocharged engine. It’s a 3 hp and ONE pound-feet more than 1.6 L engine. The most powerful engine in the Escape version’s discretionary 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine which makes 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. Changes in the type of a 9-speed automatic and a 10-speed automatic transmission are possible, but really not yet supported for the 2017 Ford Escape.
2017 Ford Escape Release date and Price
This version is very advantageous in the Ford range. Notwithstanding the progress, it will not anticipate a radical escalation in prices.

Hey, so i have a 2002 ford escape 2.0L xls 4 cylinder Manual and i've been having a problem as of late.

my car idles perfectly (500-1000 rpm) starts everytime, engages in gear everytime without slippage, but my problem is whenever i try to accelerate the car struggles in each gear. I will have the gas pedal to the floor and the car will accelerate but its seems like it is choking out and will take a long long time to reach any speed. My first gear fully stretched out usually gets me to 50 km/h but now, fully stretched my car only gets to about 20-25 km/h. its struggles going up hills and i can barely get to 100km/h to be on the highway. I've changed the fuel filter and even brought the car to the mechanic where he said it was a weak timing belt. i paid for that to be fixed and the problem did not go away. (i installed the fuel filter my self). do any of you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? ive exhasuted all my limited car knowledge and i can't search on google for problems anymore. HELP!!!

I recently bought a 2005 Escape Limited, or at least I think I did. The rear hatch does not have the Limited emblem on it, but instead has an XLT emblem. The vehicle has the black leather seats and power driver seat that I have noticed in most Limiteds made in 2005. I suppose somewhere along the way the hatch could have been damaged and replaced with a used XLT hatch from a scrap yard. I would like to know how to positively identify it as Limited, based on VIN or body code. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Last year, the Ford Escape outsold the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. In its final full year of production, Ford sold more than 250,000 examples of its small crossover, a feat made all the more remarkable—fleet sales and incentives notwithstanding—by the fact that all those Escapes were essentially the same vehicle that Ford introduced for 2001.

There were some cosmetic and mechanical updates along the way, but the Escape was getting old. Still, with such strong sales, Ford didn’t particularly need to completely remake the Escape. But it did just that. The 2013 Escape marks a complete departure from the crossover SUV it replaces. It was spawned from the company’s One Ford initiative that aims to offer the same or similar vehicles globally. This ’13 Escape, for example, will be sold as the Kuga in Europe.
