JON32018 Report post Posted March 19, 2018 2005 Ford Escape V6 - 98,000 miles. All of a sudden the transmission would not engage. Trans went dead in the middle of the street. Shutboff engine and restarted and was able to make it home, but it was slipping bad. Shut off and restarted three times to get home. PRIOR TO THIS PROBLEM THE ENGINE and the TRANSMISSION RAN LIKE A Rolls Royce. This escape has had exceptional care.I bought it in 2009, and it had 52,000 miles on it, and it was in mint condition, and i kept it that way, NO CODES, NO NOISE, NO WARNINGS, VERY QUITE SHIFTING, AND CLEAN TRANSMISSION FLUID. Before this happened I never had any problems with the ENGINE OR THE transmission. THIS transmission USED TO shift without being noticed. 8 months ago I replaced all 6 ignition coils, and all 6 spark plugs using factory parts, and had no problems since until today, Monday, March 19, 2018. COULD THIS BE A TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM? Can someone help ne, thank you for any help you can provide for me,
