panahead Report post Posted March 7, 2022 I have a 2007 Ford escape hybrid… And am getting sudden shudder/jerk/cut out under acceleration… Not hard acceleration but medium throttle at about the time a normal car car would shift gears I experience I experience a sharp jolt... cut out... shudder... fairly violent.... mainly when the vehicle is cold? It somehow feels transmission related? but honestly could be anything?I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or thoughts on what I could be? It has a funny little transmission.. here is what I found on google re it... "The Escape Hybrid's powertrain consists of a 2.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, a pair of electric motors and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT) that basically works like a regular automatic transmission."
