  1. Hello, I have a 2005 Ford Escape. Lately if the car idles for too long (say 10 minutes) when I return to driving it will not accelerate past a certain speed. The speed does not stay the same each time it happens. For instance the first time it happened the car would not go past 25 mph. It doesn't rev too high it just doesn't go. I had the gas pedal to the floor. I shut the car off and let it cool for a few minutes. When I restarted I was able to go a little faster but still didn't get up past 40. The second time it happened, I was in a drive thru for a fast food restaurant when I returned to driving I couldn't get it up past 45 mph. I shut it off for a few min restarted and only got to about 50. Shut it off again for longer restarted and I could only get it up to 60. I was on the interstate and couldn't get off on an exit, after driving it at 60 for about a mile or two it was able to get up to 70 and acted normal again. When it has the acceleration issues it also tends to shake. I have been told it is possibly the PCM. The check engine light does not come on so I can't check for any codes. Any ideas?
