    2006 Escape Hybrid

Hi everyone. This post is to strongly recommend that you consider hybrid products other than those manufactured by Ford Motor Company. My 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid experienced a catastrophic engine failure at 37 months / 65,000 miles of ownership. It spun a main bearing, requiring the replacement of the gasoline engine. The Ford Motor Company chose to stick to their guns and proclaim that the vehicle was 5,000 mles out of extended warranty, and therefore could not offer assistance in the repair. Ironically, the $7,000.00 remanufactured engine has a better warranty than the original. Ironically, Ford was not interested in learning why the engine failed through their field engineering team, even though the engine was maintained above their recommended maintenance standards, and "this is highly unusual". I do not believe **any** of the marketing hype that says Ford Motor Products are reliable. --Dan
