blockisle9 Report post Posted September 24, 2012 I have a 2013 Titaniam Escape. Can someone verify the operation for me? When I park, I get out and lock the car. When I try to start the car by hitting the button twice on the remote, nothing happens. When I hit the lock button then hit the start button twice it starts up. Keep in mind that the car is already locked. The owners manual says the car needs to be locked, not that you have to hit the lock button prior to the start buttons. If there all that way, I'm okay with it. I just want to be sure everything is working normal. Thanks Lenny
ray Report post Posted September 27, 2012 Don't have a 2013. Did you check out the owner's manual? You can also download it online.
cfdengr Report post Posted October 9, 2012 My 2013 Escape sel came with a white plastic tab attached to the keys. This had instructions on how to remote start the car. You are exactly right . Unlock then start twice.
ferneyhough Report post Posted November 1, 2012 try going to the dealer & see what they say, it's more of a safety feature. my wife's 13' Escape just had to get reprogramed at the dealer because the factory setting for when you remote start it & open up the doors it shuts off. They do this to refrain theives from trying to steal your car while you are warming up your car.
