Very ODD (to me) problem with my power locks!

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping to get some answers or direction here. I recently purchased a 2001 Escape XLT 4x4 V6. The power door locks do not work. What is wierd is that if I manually lock all of the doors, I can unlock the drivers side door only with my Ford OEM keyless entry remote. None of the doors will lock AT ALL. I pulled out the drivers side (master) switch and viewed a wiring diagram online and found the pink/white wire that supplies power from the GEM module to the switch. When I probe that wire with my test light, it has constant power. If I press lock on the switch, nothing happens. If I press unlock, my test light grounds (light turns green for ground as its a powered test light), and the drivers door will unlock. I even went as far as accessing the GEM module and check continuety of the Pink/White wire from the GEM module connector to the switch and I had .006 OHMS, which is good. SO at that point, I thought the switch itself was bad. So got another switch, and it still did not work. Am I missing something here? I'm really scratching my head over here. I thought since I had power from the GEM, and continuety, I thought it was in the switch. The other odd thing is when I press unlock and lock repeatbly, I can here the GEM module click. Anyone ever run into this? Thanks ahead of time.
