Hi Folks,

I'm interested in anything you all might be doing to your early-year Hybrid Escapes, especially modifications for camping and moderate off-road travel.  I've been doing tons of both with my 2006 Hybrid 2WD here in Oregon, and gotten into a lot of places I should never have attempted, but have always made it out without getting stuck.  I haven't made any modifications, but always carry a come-along (hand winch), shovel, and battery booster box.  My tires are not particularly rugged for back-country use, because I don't want to sacrifice too much fuel efficiency on the highway. I did swap the bogus factory spare tire for a real tire as soon as I bought my Escape. My rig now has about 205,000 miles on it, and still going strong, with very little repair work.

Eager to hear from others with similar interests,

Tom
