Console shift indicator

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a new 2018 Escape SE. It is the only one I have driven at night. I noticed that the shift indicator in the center console does not light up to indicate the current position. The indicator in the dash works properly so I am able to see what position the shifter is in but sometimes it would be easier to look at the console indicator. Should that indicator be lighted when the lights are on?

Thanks.

I just picked up my 2018 ford SE as well, and I'm having the same issue. I even asked ford manufacturing, and they didn't have an answer for me.

A little frustrated, because its something I'm used to. But I'm hearing they took it out completely.

Same thing on the 2019 Escape. No lighting of PRNDS on the shift bezel. Guess they had to squeeze $0.50 in LED's to cut cost.
