TimV Report post Posted October 11, 2020 My wife’s 2014 just experienced total transmission failure at 89,000 miles. Dealership diagnosed and said fluid was black and full of metal particles. They quoted me a price of $5,400 to rebuild. I would like for someone to explain why a Ford transmission lasted only 89,000 miles with passive driving? bonfire79 Report post Posted June 4, 2021 This seems to be the number 1 problem on these cars. I don't know why Ford will not address this. I believe that, like most new cars, they are designed for obsolescence. Built to fail.... in a short period of time. Bon
iriegnome Report post Posted March 15, 2022 My 2013 Titanium is having this issue as well. Seems the Transmission Control Modules are horrible. Then when you buy a replacement, the Escape ECU will not program even from the dealership.. It is a really terrible design and I am crossing my fingers that my trans can be fixed, because I cannot afford to junk the thing.
Markfnc Report post Posted January 16 2017 Escape Titanium with 1.5. I had the small block replaced under warranty at around 45,000 miles. now I'm at 101,000 and transmission just went haywire yesterday. whirling sound, followed by a shuddering, then couldn't find right gear. Figuring out now which local trans place to take to, to find issue and rebuild what is necessary. I've had Fords since 1992, and I'm about done.
