Jaba Report post Posted June 4, 2021 Hi...Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the 2017 1.5 liter Escape? Specifically I'm looking for the fuse number 35 which is know as engine power 4 diagram...thanks
Knottynuts Report post Posted June 6, 2021 Are you looking for the fuse location or what it supplies power to?
Jaba Report post Posted June 6, 2021 Hi thanks for responding I'm looking for what is connected to this fuse because it keeps blowing
Knottynuts Report post Posted June 6, 2021 Ah, OK. It looks like the EVAP Purge, Blocking and Vent valves, the Variable Camshaft Solenoids 1 & 2 and both oxygen sensors The connecting wire seems to be a white wire with a brown tracer (1.5L turbo model). Of course the may be a short within the Battery Junction Box where the fuse is located as well.
Jaba Report post Posted June 7, 2021 Thanks for the information! I think I have a shorted upstream 02 sensor or it's the wire going to it that has the short, the problem is that it's intermittent which makes it hard to troubleshoot.
Knottynuts Report post Posted June 8, 2021 What leads you to think it's an O2 sensor?
Jaba Report post Posted June 8, 2021 I disconnected the power to the downstream one to isolate it and so far the fuse hasn't blown. Since it's an intermittent problem I'll wait a few more days to make sure it doesn't blow before I replace the sensor. Do you know which side the sensor is located? Knottynuts Report post Posted June 9, 2021 There are only two oxygen sensors, one just before and one after the catalytic converter. How did you disconnect the power to the downstream sensor without actually locating the sensor?
Jaba Report post Posted June 9, 2021 The connectors for both sensors are under the hood near the battery. Do you know what side under the vehicle the downstream sensor is located? I think it's the passenger side but I'm not sure.
Knottynuts Report post Posted June 10, 2021 The upstream sensor is screwed into the catalytic converter where the exhaust enters it (almost right at the engine) and the downstream O2 is screwed in the the exhaust pipe right after the converter. The exhaust pipe runs down the middle of the vehicle so neither one is on a particular side of the vehicle, one is just more to the front of the car and the other is more towards the rear. The connectors are different though; the upstream is a six wire connector and the downstream is a four wire connector.
