camdavis58 Report post Posted December 26, 2021 I have a 2009 Ford Escape. From what I've read online there is a known issue with the Ford Escape ignition lock module failing and needing to be replaced. That might be the problem I'm experiencing. My car won't start. I turn the key and can hear the sound of the engine trying to turn over, but it won't actually start. Can anyone tell me exactly what goes wrong in the module? Is it something to do with the removable key cylinder or is there some other issue? I want to understand this problem thoroughly before I take the car to a mechanic. This is the part I'm talking about.
