Abby Ford Report post Posted September 7 Two weeks after delivery the audio failed on my 2023 Escape PHEV. Audio display stuck at 0 so no radio, no navigation voice prompts, no voice activations and no phone. Soft reset did not work. Took it back to dealer. The dealer performed a hard reset and noted the issue had happened before I took deivery and that the reset would probably not last (it did'nt) so a new DSP module was ordered. Of course it's on backorder. May arrive mid October. So if does arrive in mid October and it does fix the issue I will have been without audio for 2 of 3 months of ownership. My questions are..... Is there a non Ford replacement DSP I could get sooner? What would you do? Take the car back to the dealer and ask for a functioning vehicle till mine is fixed? It seems others have had this issue but I'm usure of the number so don't know if it's a big issue or fairly isolated. BTW I'm in Canada.
SteveK Report post Posted October 23 I have a three month old 2023 Escape ST-Line, fully loaded. I am having the exact same issue. Taking in Wednesday but will probably have the same outcome as you. It is ashame, because I really like this car. I did call Ford and they acted like they never heard of this problem which seems strange as there are post all over the internet about the sound issue. Let me know what the end result is for you.
Escapeee Report post Posted November 2 23Escape hybrid, did the same right off the lot, dealer service checked it out and DSP has been order (Oct15) and warned its on backorder. Temp fix>>>>>disconnect then reconnect the right hand connector on the amp (its a small box beside the spare tire) this gets the volume but only temporary for a day or so. Abby Ford Report post Posted Friday at 01:27 AM Hey Steve K The DSP module did finally arrive and was installed at the end of Oct. Working fine ......... so far. In the end the shop manager shop showed me how to reset the DSP but by the time the module arrived a reset was only lasting a day or two. The reset is as described by Escapeee. I also asked the service manager why they they just could'nt pull a module from a vehicle on the lot. He said they could'nt because they are VIN specific. Not sure I buy that. Should be able to reprogram one. Frustrating. Good luck.
